4,805 dengue patients returns home after recovery in Khulna

A dengue patient passed away this afternoon at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) in the city.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ashiquzzaman, 37, son of M Omor Ali, residence of Shalikha upazila in Magura district.

Dr Shailandranath Biswas, said Ashiquzzaman was admitted to KMCH early today with high dengue fever. He breathed his last around 11.55 am today.

Meanwhile, around 4,805 patients have returned home after receiving treatment, while recovery rate is 86 percent.

A total of 497 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals and clinics in Khulna division.

“A total of 5,576 patients were admitted to the different hospitals in Khulna division since January this year. Of them, 4,805 patients have returned home after recovery,” said an official release of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHs) in Khulna.

According to DGHS, a total of 12,407 dengue test kits have been reserved in the Khulna division. A total of 18 people have died of dengue so far, it added.

Around 129 new dengue patients got admitted to different hospitals in the last 24 hours across the division while 274 dengue patients have been referred to hospitals in city.
